Ventura R. Reyes, 82, of Olton, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Olton. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 2, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 4, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith as celebrant. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Ventura Reyna Reyes was born August 14, 1933, in Los Fresnos, Texas to Fermine and Refugia (Reyna) Reyes. He married Ramona Perez in 1953 and moved to Olton in 1970. Ventura was a farmer and member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. A member of the Cursillistas, he loved music and playing the accordion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona, in 2006, a son, Ventura Reyes, Jr. and a grandson, Chris Reyes.

Survivors include two sons, Peter Reyes of Kansas and Santos Reyes of Olton, six daughters, Elena Torrez of Abernathy, JoAnn Frazier of Olton, Aurelia Castillo and Refugia "Cuca" Sepulveda, both of Lovington, N.M., Olivia Reyes of Amarillo, and Oralia "Shorty" Sandoval of Olton, two brothers, Eduardo Reyes of Waco and Crisencio Reyes of Calvert and two sisters, Petra Trevino of Lubbock and Maria Gonzales of Hart. He was blessed with 31 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
