Victor Sauceda, Sr., 76, of Olton, died Saturday, August 11, 2018, in Lubbock. Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 16, 2018, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Mr. Sauceda was born July 27, 1942, in Hondo, Texas, to Ysidoro and Refugia (Garcia) Sauceda. A lifetime area resident, Victor married Virginia Ruiz on May 26, 1961, in Dimmitt, Texas. Mr. Sauceda enjoyed farming and driving the tractor and did so until his retirement in 2008. Hunting, fishing, and watching football (especially OU) were some of his favorite things to do. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, his family, his pet cow and goat, and his dogs and cats.
Mr. Sauceda was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bobby Rey Sauceda, a granddaughter, Hannah Michelle Sauceda, eight brothers,and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Sauceda of Olton, four sons, Victor Sauceda, Jr. and his wife Josie of Olton, Phillip Sauceda and his wife Silvia of Olton, Jamie Sauceda and his wife Rosa of Lubbock, and Chris Sauceda and his wife Rebecca of Littlefield, and three daughters, Janie Sauceda of Cotton Center, Corina Sauceda of Olton and Leonora Sauceda of Cotton Center. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
