Wanda Yvonne Martin, 78, of Olton, died Thursday, December 11, 2014, in Olton. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 13, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Rev. Gayle Thornberry and Pastor Tom Carter officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Wanda was born June 25, 1936, in Halfway, to Roy and Mary (Jones) Wesley. On January 18, 1952, in Olton, she married Charles Martin. She moved to Olton seventeen years ago from Phoenix where she was a word processing supervisor for the state of Arizona. Wanda was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Advanced Class Sunday school class. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and especially loved to travel in their R.V. She was a member of the Good Sam R.V. Club in Plainview, the Olton Lions Club, the bunko club, and the Red Hat Society. One of her most proud accomplishments was that she helped develop Olton's Sandcrawl Museum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her adoptive parents, Tip R. Atkins and Gladys Velma Atkins Judson, two sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Martin of Olton, two sons, Chad Edward Martin of Hemet, CA and James Rush Martin of Artesia, N.M., two daughters, Leona Gayle Thornberry of Grottoes, VA and Gladys Diane Sackrider of Sun City, AZ, one brother, Royce Wesley of Ft. Worth and one sister, Josie May Colburn of Muscle Shoals, AL. She was blessed with four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
