Barbara Daugherty, 86, of Olton, died Friday, October 6, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Brother David Azam officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Barbara was born February 26, 1937, in Plainview, Texas, to Frank and Ruth (Brigance) Cornelius.  She graduated from Olton High School and was a lifetime Olton resident. On June 26, 1955, Barbara married the love of her life, J Frank Daugherty, and they were married over 59 years.  A member of the First Baptist Church in Olton, Barbara was a dedicated wife and mother. She was an amazing cook and took many meals to the cattle pens and brandings throughout the years.  Barbara liked to do needle point and she loved chocolate.  Most of all, Barbara loved her family and especially loved spending time in the sandhills, where they would cook hamburgers and steaks.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J Frank Daugherty in 2014, a daughter, Virginia Daugherty in 2017, and a grandson, Shane Barnett in 2015.

Survivors include her son, Ted Daugherty and wife Jennifer of Olton and her daughter, Patricia Barnett and husband Bart of Olton. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Billy Barnett and wife Kristin, Ellen Daugherty and husband Travis, Calvin Daugherty and wife Leslie and Cody Daugherty and wife Rachel and five great-grandchildren, Landri, Ford, Coen, Jennifer, and Everly.
